What Is Unetwork? A Guide for License Operators
Unetwork is a people-powered global edge network that lets Unetwork License Operators (ULOs) use a smartphone for telecommunications verification, monitoring and other network tasks. Relevant network activity is documented, while critical metadata can be secured with a cryptographic hash and sent to the World Mobile Chain (WMChain).
For License Operators: Participation takes place through the Unetwork mobile app. A compatible smartphone, access to an Operator Software License and the Unetwork Credits intended for participation are among the main requirements.

What Is Unetwork?
Unetwork is a decentralized, people-powered edge network that uses participating smartphones to collect real-time network telemetry and verify telecommunications activity across many devices, networks and locations. The resulting data can help carriers and other enterprises measure connectivity, routing, service quality and network performance under real-world conditions.
Unetwork describes its network as infrastructure for multiple commercial workloads, including network verification, network intelligence and testing on real mobile devices. For a License Operator, the important part is simple: participation takes place through the Unetwork mobile app, without requiring dedicated server or mining hardware for the ULO role.
HOW UNETWORK WORKS
1 · Measure
The smartphone contributes technical telemetry and network data from its real-world network environment.
2 · Verify
Unetwork uses suitable devices for telecom verification, connectivity checks and other supported network tasks.
3 · Secure
Relevant results are documented and critical metadata can be secured with a cryptographic hash.
4 · Record
The cryptographic hash can be sent to WMChain, creating a verifiable on-chain record of the documented network activity.
What Is a Unetwork License Operator (ULO)?
A Unetwork License Operator (ULO) is a participant who uses an Unetwork Operator Software License together with the mobile app. The smartphone becomes an active endpoint in the Unetwork edge network and can be used for supported network tasks.
For most users, this is the relevant Unetwork role. You do not need to operate server infrastructure: tasks are performed through the mobile app on a compatible smartphone. ULOs can receive rewards for eligible network activity.
What Does Unetwork Do on Your Phone?
The Unetwork app turns the smartphone into a distributed source of telecommunications measurements, verification and other real-world network tasks. What the device actually performs depends on the workloads currently available and suitable for that device.
Real-time telemetry
Distributed devices provide current information about real network conditions across different locations and mobile networks.
Telecom verification
Technical checks can help verify connectivity, routing and the behaviour of telecommunications services under real-world conditions.
Network intelligence
Collected data can contribute to the analysis of network performance, quality, anomalies and other operational network issues.
On-chain proof
Critical metadata can be hashed and sent to WMChain, creating a verifiable record of documented network activity.
Background network checks
Verification and monitoring tasks can run through the app as part of normal Unetwork participation.
Phone privacy & mobile charges
Unetwork states that the app does not make outbound calls through your SIM, send outbound SMS through your mobile plan or access your contacts. These activities should therefore not create corresponding call or SMS charges on your mobile bill.
Additional tasks and active tasks
Depending on availability, License Operators may also encounter additional active tasks such as Scout or Runner tasks alongside regular background activity. Availability, requirements and reward conditions can change as Unetwork develops.

What Do You Need to Participate?
Participation as a ULO is designed around a mobile device rather than dedicated node hardware. For the current Unetwork process, the main components include:
- A compatible Android or iOS smartphone
- A stable internet connection
- Access to an Unetwork Operator Software License
- The Unetwork mobile app
- Unetwork Credits for participation
Unetwork Credits
Unetwork currently states that Unetwork Credits are required for participation. Official plans currently start at $1.99 per month. Each Operator Software License has its own Credits plan; for a leased license, the Credits plan may be funded by the license owner or the user depending on the arrangement.
The way Credits are displayed and handled can change with new app versions. The conditions currently shown in the Unetwork app or management portal should therefore be treated as authoritative for the active user process.

Which Unetwork License Option Do You Need?
To participate as a ULO, you need access to an Unetwork Operator Software License. A license can be available directly to you or used through Unetwork’s Digital Lease system.

How Does Unetwork Digital Lease Work?
Digital Lease allows a Unetwork Node Operator to provide an Operator Software License to a License Operator for use. The reward-sharing conditions are defined before the lease is activated and are executed through the digital lease agreement.

Where Can You Get a Leased License?
Unetwork Marketplace
License Operators can check available lease offers within the Unetwork ecosystem or app. The actual reward split depends on the individual lease offer and should be reviewed before activation.
Private Lease Code
Alternatively, a License Operator can use a private Lease Code provided by a Unetwork Node Operator. The displayed lease conditions should be checked before activation.
How Do Unetwork Rewards Work?
Unetwork License Operators can receive rewards for eligible network activity performed through the mobile app. Unetwork describes these rewards as usage-based: they are generated from network services provided to telecommunications companies and other enterprise customers.
Reward amounts are therefore not fixed or guaranteed. Results can depend on factors such as available tasks, successful verification, actual network activity and the applicable lease conditions.
Reward unit
1 UP = 1 USD
Unetwork Points (UPs) are the accounting unit used to display eligible Unetwork rewards. According to the current ULO User Guide, 1 UP represents a value of 1 USD.
